Often at the dinner table, there is talk about the food's flavours, but some assumptions are considered to be true. In winter, when the trend of eating fish accelerates, there is also a return of the debate on the tables in the homes, whether drinking milk after eating fish can lead to vitiligo or cataracts. In this disorder, white marks appear on the skin and can occur on different body parts.

In this regard, a tweet by social media user Uzair Rizvi helped draw attention to this, and people also mentioned their experiences. Uzair said that his mother became very nervous when she drank milk after eating fish. He asked if this happens only with Pakistani and Indian mothers.

Regarding this assumption, some people have also said that a sect of Jews is also very careful not to drink milk from fish. Similarly, one user wrote that it was actually a philosophy of Greek medicine. Some talked about the effectiveness of these two items and said that eating them together might cause gastrointestinal problems even if there is no diarrhoea. However, these days fish recipes that use milk are common in restaurants.

"Years have nothing to do with eating milk or fish together."

In this regard, we have tried to know, by talking to experts, the relationship between this disorder and drinking milk after eating fish. Dermatologist Dr Urmila Javed said that this is a hypothesis.

He said it has nothing to do with eating milk or fish together. Rather, it has nothing to do with any food or drink. Dr Urmila said, 'It is an autoimmune disease, meaning your immune system starts making antibodies against melanin (cells that give skin colour). This results in the loss of melanin from the area where those antibodies attack, which is clearly visible on our skin.

"This is the medical reason."Regarding this, nutritionist Dr Zainab said, "We have this assumption, but there is no scientific basis for it."

Dr Zainab said, "It's not that the combination of the two things creates something that causes an eruption on the skin."

"It's the quantity, not the effectiveness, of the food that counts."

It should be noted that it is not only fish and milk but also many other foods known to be harmful depending on whether they are hot or cold.

Dr Zainab said that "nutritionists consider the quantity of food more than its effectiveness."He said that it doesn't matter whether the effect of food is hot or cold; the real issue is quantity, how much you eat these foods.

If you eat something in excess, it can obviously put a strain on your digestive system. However, people can certainly develop skin allergies due to various foods. Talking about this, Dr Urmila Javed said that some people are definitely allergic to food allergies or food items. Some people have food allergies that they already have. He further said that 'in some cases, allergies may increase due to the preservatives, additives or food colours contained in the spices in the boxes.'

He said that it doesn't even matter whether the effect of food is hot or cold; the real issue is the quantity, how much you eat these foods. If you eat something in excess, it can obviously put a strain on your digestive system. Apart from this, some chillies can also give you allergies.
